Not exactly the prettiest Crane I have ever seen but they are relatively rare.
This one was taken at sunset in Kwando concession, Northern Botswana,

Nicely exposed and sharp -- but in my eyes needs a little more room all around -- more room for the virtual feet -- looks like he is stooping to stay in the frame -- I often have trouble keeping space around the big birds

Wow, what an amazing Crane, really beautiful light as well ! Great details and sharpness, and well exposed. Only wish for some more room on the bottom side of the image, but already great as posted ! Hans

Great looking bird and the first time I have seen this species, so thanks for sharing, Ken.
Agree with the points that have already been raised, also agree re the superb light and nailed exposure.

Gorgeous light and nice contrast on the crane. Reds look good with lots of detail. Sharon

Beautiful light and a very elegant pose, Ken. To my eye, this feels a bit crowded at the bottom, but I still like it. You might be able to add some canvas down there and get away with it.

Thanks for your comments, I have quite a lot more space on the original RAW, to the left was another crane OOF and turning away. To the bottom was a very poor reflection of the legs. I will take another look

The lovely warm evening light makes this shot stand out Ken.
The crop is a bit too tight though as you've chopped off the feet and come in a bit close all around.

Martin,
The "feet " are under the water, so would not be visible

Beautiful light Ken. Lovely pose. I wish for more room around the feet especially.
