I like this Mario....you sure made the most of a rainy day; with an interesting color pallet, a gritty feel, and nice separation of subject and bg.

Hi Mario,

I really like a lot of your work, but this one isn't among my favourites (sorry, just being honest). To me it feels almost awkward - I find that the out-of-focus impalas in the background pull at my eye and feel almost "cheated" that I can't see more of the subject. And...the absolutely frozen-in-space raindrops distracted me as well...if a slower shutter speed was used to create streaks of the drops I think they would be more instantly recognizable as such...

Cheers...

Hello Mario

Very Dramatic capture here! Well done with your exposure and processing to get impressive details of head and area.

good separation from the background. Would have liked a little more detail on the darker tip of this antler(Horn ?) it blends into the darker area quite a bit. There is a natural catchlight but think a little more brightness of this catchlight would really make the eye jump out !

The oof background seem to me as looking through a window with rain caught on it and therefore agree with Mr. Hill on the use of a slower shutter may have given the rain-drop-trails added depth to your impressive capture here:)

I like this loads with the other OOF impalas, the falling rain and the contrast - might up overall exposure by a third though if it were mine?

I like this one. Don't mind the OOF impalas in the background. I find the light patch of sky more of a distraction. Nice texture from the rain.

I'm quite late to comment on your photo Mario, but wanted to add my voice. I really like it, for a bunch of reasons. Those dark antlers are so sharp and textured, they really caught my eye against that very interesting background highlighted by the brighter central area in blue. The saturated colours and the rain are just cool as well. The abundance of space on the left is a bit unusual, but keeping an open mind about it - it works.
