Winter is getting long and cabin fever is setting in. Going over images from past years, this curved-billed thrasher was taken in November 2011 at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix AZ.

I like the vertical framing and unusual perch, amazing how the bird can negotiate around them without a scratch.
Very good job managing the bright sunlight, nice clean BG John :toast:

The ocotillo branches are always a nice element. I wish there was more detail in the feathers of the wing - it looks like it might have been lost with noise reduction?

Perfect dof and gorgeous light, John. I'm not sure where it is in your processing, but the plumage looks kind of "blotchy" or smeared in places. It might be a noise reduction issue, but I don't really know.

Hi John :wavey: I would change the title to" jail Bird" just kidding  the bird does look like it's between bars. i really enjoy this composition, and this unusual perch.

Like the way the bird is 'imprisoned' within those vertical spiny perches

Looks like this bird just took a bath or is wet from something and that may explain some of the detail loss in some feathered areas that others mentioned. I really like this image...I would title it Bird Jail. Pretty light and that eye just sucks me right in. Sharon
