Golden-crowned Sparrow

This is a skulker in the underbrush. It always makes me want to be anthropomorphic because it always looks unhappy and even it's call is plaintive and unassertive compared to it's relative the White-crowned Sparrow. This one was bolder than most and popped up onto a branch in the area of my ground feeder for a few seconds last Sunday.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow head mounted to blind, f5.6, 1/320th, iso 800 Av mode with +2/3 stop compensation. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 10.5MP. Taken February 9th at 9:56 am under cloudy skies.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

We don't have this variety here, so I can't compare the behavior. The head is nice and sharp with nice details. I like the wispy white bg with hints of pine needles. Sharon

Lovely little bird with sharp details and a nice winter setting. A pinch more room on the bottom would have been nice
