White-breasted Nuthatch

Hunkered down with the recent storms here as things have been a tad slow. We've had a noticeable lack of winter finches here this year, but one can always count on seeing an occasional Nuthatch or two.

The large image is perfect, Chuck; tack sharp with room to breathe and a killer BG! :toast:

Love the background with the blurred out tree. Really shows this little guy off nicely. Tack sharp with a great pose and good eye contact. Nice image Chuck! No matter how bad the weather you can always count on one or two species to give you some frames!

Classic Nut-Hatch Pose. I like the composition and the details you captured. There is a small blue cast to the entire image. If you have Photoshop, try this. Open the image, duplicate the background layer (assuming you have just one layer in the image you are looking at), Go to the Image Menu, choose Adjustments, choose Match Color and click the checkbox labeled "Neutralize". You'll see a small shift in the color.

Lovely image Chuck - nice pose and terrific details. Agree with Keith on the blue cast (easily fixed)

I like this too. I agree about the slight blue cast.

Keith- I always check the white balance with the eyedropper in LR before bringing the image into CS6. I missed that critical step with this in PP- Here I employed your technique in Photoshop and the difference is apparent.

Thanks
