Tangle of Wings

A group of gulls explodes into the air in Virginia's Chesapeake Bay. I've been working lately on images that are very ethereal and artistic yet still hold enough detail to allow the eye to settle on something and explore. I really enjoy this one and am curious what you all think. Perhaps this should be in Photo Art, but there's almost no post-processing involved so it seems like Avian is appropriate.

really a cool and different shot, Thomas. I really like the bird on the left, but am not as crazy about the one on the right--I'd consider a vertical crop that only includes the left bird.

After accidentally capturing a bird in a similar style some years ago I wanted to redo it better, but you beat me to it! I really enjoy this picture Thomas!

This is too cool! Almost Photo Art but appropriately posted for us Avian fans.

The ghosting and slo-mo technique worked pretty well here. Different, but interesting. Sharon

VERY cool, Thomas! Really nicely done. Always thought about something along these lines (or lack thereof?) but never got around to trying in earnest. You've created a very engaging image here that could do well on the marketplace or in competition, if you're into either. Gotta say there's a bit of an ink-blot/cloud-shapes kind of phenomenon here as well...what all you can "see" in the swirls and shapes and shadows. Very ethereal.
