Ruffled Shoveler

Okay, I'm taking a break from the Woodies to post an image of another of my favorite ducks. I captured a different view of this particular Shoveler Drake. He had just finished a vigorous shaking as I snapped this image. His wings were drooped a bit over his side, hiding the normal chestnut colored feathers. His position really accentuates the blue and green feathers that are sometimes hidden in a normal pose. I think this might be an immature drake, since the green head feathers are not as developed. Beautiful bird nonetheless. Processed with Photoshop CS3, NeatImage and LightZone.

Excellent, Jerry. this really does showoff those blue and green feathers and the ruffled head gives him a lot of character.

Love it Jerry. :toast: The only nit I have is that we are getting close to a tonal merger between the end of the bill and the dark water. Possibly a slight tweak there to improve the separation
