Yowsa Chet....That is some sweet light you got there. The background just makes the bird stand out so well. Super head turn and a great look at the eye and the blue bill. Might be just a tad soft. If this was cropped along the bottom you might want to add back enough canvas to get the feet back in the image as well as the perch. It would make this image much better. Excellent

Nice capture. I love the colors and the head turn. I agree with David in that it looks a tad soft. I would add some canvass on the bottom for the virtual feet if you have it. I also think it is a bit oversaturated. Adding the techs would help in the critique. Thanks for sharing.

Great light. The breeding color and plumage look to be at or very near peak, so excellent in that regard. The tech details would help with any comments along those lines. I agree with Dave and Jerry on a slight softness and desire for the rest of the feet..

Wonderful light and great colors. Only thing to wish for is some more space on the lower end, to include the feet.. Otherwise just fine ! :wavey: , Hans

Your heron is catching some lovely light and stands out well against the background. I also like the negative space on the right. The background seems quite grainy but that's an easy fix, was this shot at high iso?

Thanks for your comments. This image was originally captured on fuji slide film and scanned. I was using the older canon 500L lens. Chet

Beautiful image with nice light and colors but somewhat compromised by a lack of sharpness and lack of room at the bottom of the frame.

Lovely colors and nicely composed Chet. I agree with the nits David and Jerry mention-short of those this is a very nice image.

I like the light and the color. I do think it seems a bit soft and I wish you had a bit more room at the bottom and didn't cut off the feet.

Great pose, Chet, and wonderful light. The larger image looks just the slightest bit soft to my eye and I do miss the feet (I always have problems with that one in portrait mode).

Splendid color and detail and only nit is offending branch and no feet. :toast:
