Another Eagle

I do wish I'd had some light on the face in this one, but it wasn't quite that cooperative. I clipped the very tip of the second primary on the right wing, so I added a bit of canvas on the top and reconstructed the wing tip by stealing a the tip of the adjacent primary and rotating and translating until it matched. I also took a bit off the left and bottom.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, hand held propped on windowsill, f8, 1/800, Av mode with + 1 stop compensation, iso 400. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Final image size after the canvas addition and crop is 13.4MP. Taken February 19th at 11:22 am, Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

The detail shows is the larger version. Since you don't have a hot white, it may be worthwhile to try opening the shadows up a bit more in LR5. The flight pose is generally good, though I wish the back wing had not lined up quite as well with his head. I don't see any evidence of the repair work, so tops marks on that.

The large version is pretty nice, the OOF feathers on the near wingtips kind of bothers me though. Your are right with some better light the image would certainly have some more punch. :toast:
