Took this White-Winged Scoter photo today, in snowy/cloudy conditions. Tried to get the lowest profile shot that I could, even laying down on my stomach, in the snow in my Khakis.

Thanks for all the comments/advice so far!

You sure caught the stormy atmosphere, Jason. You have a nice head turn with a good look at the eye. I'm on my laptop, so I won't try to assess exposure.

You caught the eye well enough, and some of the detail in the black, which is a good beginning. On the con side, the image is soft. Also, I would reconsider the vignetting.

Jason, It looks like you had some difficult conditions to contend with. Agree with Phil on the vignetting. Dave

Nice comp. The detail seems to be there in the larger version. The whites look like you have room to open it up more and bring out that detail without clipping them. Ditto on dropping the vignetting.

Thanks for the comments!! I reduced the vignetting and lightened the image a touch. I agree, it had a bit too much of a dark feeling, but I was trying to keep the mood of the day. I enjoy shooting in the winter weather, even though the conditions are not always ideal
