Beautiful flower, but it appears blurry and I see a lot of compression artifacts. Are you following the posting guidelines?

I'm seeing very large pixels in this image. Is this a large crop??

Hi Steven
First of all, welcome to NPN and to the flora gallery. As Bill like to say, this is the greatest flora gallery on the planet!
There is quite a bit of noise in this image and I suspect that this is a pretty severe crop. It would be helpful if you could provide the EXIF data so we can exclude high ISO as a cause. The rose is not as sharp as I would like, Was this a handheld shot? The color is also a little muted and increasing the brightness and/or whiteness may help.
Apart from learning from comments from others, another very helpful way to improve is to critique others work. It may be daunting to critique on others work at first but we are all here to learn from each other. Even if it is to just say that you like the image and why it resonates with you will sharpen your compositional skills. So just jump right in and comment.
