Nikon D7000, Nikon 35-70mm f/2.8 @ 70mm, f/11, ISO 100, tripod, 2:30pm.

Bayou Liberty running through Camp Salmen. Some nice old fern covered oaks with cypress in the background. Overcast, foggy winter day down in the bayou.

Great image. The muted colours create a special mood. Well done!

This really feels like Bayou country to me. Nice image. I hope you got some detail shots of the great looking reflections in the lower right, Alan. I would also encourage you to jump in and critique images from others. It is a tremendous learning tool. :wavey:

Nice image of typical bayou country. The detail is fine and the colors look spot on. This is a place I've heard mentioned a thousand times but have never been there.

Thanks for the feedback. I know scenes like this can be somewhat "busy". I was pretty happy with this one. In post processing, I tried to recreate the scene as I actually saw it through the lens. The ferns and FG leaves were such a vibrant green compared to the rest of the winter landscape around.

Although I've considered photography my serious hobby now for 4 years, I feel that my development has progressed at a snails pace. I know much of this is due to lack of time in the field and in the digital darkroom. Work and family take precedent. However, I plan on spending as much time as possible in the future, trying to improve, building a decent portfolio. At this point, I feel unqualified to do much critiquing. We'll see.....Again, thanks. I feel certain that now, as a new NPN member, I will improve if I utilize the resources (i.e. you all) available here.

Welcome to the landscape gallery Alan and a nice bayou scene with a very natural look to it. Critiquing is how you learn a lot and even if you just say what you like or dislike about an image helps both people learn. Hope to see more from you.
