I have never seen this situation before, so this was quite special.
A family group of Ostrich cross the Mawagusi river in Ruaha National Park, Tanzania.

An unusual sighting Ken. Fascinating. Could you discern any purpose to their crossing?

Interesting photo! Have not seen many photos of ostrich in groups. Would a slightly lower angle make the ostrich stand out more from the BG? Thanks for sharing this very interesting image.

Wonderful naturescape with a strong story as well. It is amazing to see how the young are as large or larger than some of the adults. On the adults - two females in the lead followed by the male? Well done.

Very unusual capture. Love the ostriches and the fact that your capture shows off the habitat very well. Super capture.

Thanks everybody for your comments.
Martin,
I asked the chicken, he did not know either
John,
It would have been nice to get lower but the wet sand in the river bed was quite dangerous

Amazing to see how big these birds are when seen in a wider landscape composition, very cool get together, thanks for posting.
