Second Try

The Floral Gallery has me hooked. After going out to a near by sanctuary to capture some Avocets, I stopped by a near by nursery to shoot some images. I asked and they allow photographs to be take but no tripods. so armed with my reviewing the images and comments in the Floral Gallery, I took a try. I looked for nice subjects but with nice lighting. I learn from the gallery that lighting is important also.

Harry: Terrific lighting indeed and really good exposure control to prevent blow outs. Most excellent; keep 'em coming. >=))>

Beautifully lit, Harry ! The simplicity of the composition on the black bg is most effective, and you've brought out the colours of the flower extremely well. Lovely image !

Very nice image Harry. Love the 'fade to black' stem and your handling of the whites. Excellent work.

Glad to hear that we have you hooked Harry! I really like this - especially the way that the flower stem emerges from the darkness. A very nice bloom and you chose an area with great lighting. Really nice!

Nicely dramatic. Yep, the lighting is king, here. The calla has such a photogenic shape, and this is one of the nicest images I've seen.
