Coopers Hawk

This Coopers landed on an old bench in my backyard. It stayed there for several minutes giving me a good chance to get some shots. There was a rabbit about 5 feet from the hawk but both animals seemed to ignore each other. Also the hawk did not seem to be interested in the birds that were flying by. I spotted the hawk from inside our house and all photos were taken through window glass. I knew I could not go out of the house without scaring him away. This was taken in late afternoon in central Illinois.

Inside, through the glass? Very nice image considering that handicap. The background obviously has the touch of man, but nice image regardless.

Quite nice one legged pose. Great sharpness considering it was shot through a window. I wish the head would stand out from the BG a little more as it seems to get kind of lost with it. You might try playing with cloning out the stick behind the head. I like to low POV you were able to achieve. :toast:

Good job for what you were dealing with, particularly going through the window glass. As the other have noted the BG isn't ideal, but you made the most of the opportunity.

Great shot and the quality is excellent for having been shot through a window. Nice work.

Hardly visible that it was shot through glass. Nice species. Seems like we miss a small part of the tail? Cheers, Hans

John,
Can't believe you got this through the glass. Colors look pretty natural, great pose good head angle, and sharp. Looks like he had just eaten. Blood on the talons. Lucky you to be able to get images like this from inside your house.
