One of my favorites - seen it several times in Taiwan. The larger version is a must see since it shows the subtle colors in the plumage. BG colors are matching, except for the 'white' part, maybe you could consider darkening that a little - but other than that a really nice image , hans

I like this, but for me the rock is overpowering the image. The white spot also draws my eye. I would experiment with a some tighter crops and possibly darken the white spot. The bird is great, but IMHO, the crop is not allowing that to come across. Love the bird though.

Hello Simon
Excellent capture , detail is very good. Some bright spots on the rock are distracting though.

I have another take on this. The white from the waterfall is only distracting because of the dark area to the right of it. The rock is over large for a perch and the subject a bit small in comparison. A slight crop from the left, a crop from the bottom up to the corner of the rock and a crop from the right to the last OOF white would yield a classic thirds crop with the subject located ideally at the lower left thirds intersection. This would be about a 50% crop, but with 22MP to play with, you should see no visible degradation in the image.

Very interesting bird. Like some of the others I find the white of the waterfall to keep tugging at my eye. Other than that I like it as presented even with him small in the frame. My question is, does he need an advanced degree like a PhD to have a name like "Plumbeous"? Well done.

Nice shot but I do find the lighter BG area to detract a little from the image.
