Agave Distraction

Went to Grand Canyon to photograph the canyon, but fell in love with agave instead. It was very dry on the rim, but these were green and lush and full of symmetry and texture . . . and so rigid they didn't blow around in the wind. While I did photograph the canyon, the agave are what commanded my attention.

Canon 5D2, 28-300 lens @ 109, ISO 400, f/16, 2.5 seconds, 6 images focus-blended with Helicon focus.

I like your shot a lot. I love succulentae, and you managed stacking very well.

Only one suggestion to make it perfect. The points of the petals are kissing the edge of the frame. Suggest either adding more canvas or cropping a bit more to make it look intentional.

This makes a lovely abstract pattern, Tony, and is a crisp capture of the plant textures - the variegated colour on the leaves has come out exceptionally well.

Wow Tony, the thumbnail does not do this photo justice. Amazing range of tones and hues. The symmetry is mesmerizing. Excellent floral photo.

Agave's do have some wonderful patterns but getting that to display in a visual appealing image is a challenge and you have does this very well. I like the off centered straight down composition and the green color variation, way to go.

Beautiful composition and details but what I love is the way you managed to create a nice design with the usually disturbing blue spots in the leaves. Bravo!
