Found a cluster of small wood anemones nestling under a tree and rather liked the pose of this one.

Canon 7D, Tamron 55-200mm lens @ 181mm, 1/640 sec @ f5, - 0.33ev, ISO320; touch of Topaz streak filter.

Ian, marvelous perspective here. Your usual fine detail, and perfect DOF. If it were mine, I'd perhaps move the bloom just a bit further left in the frame.

Interesting color contrast between flower and background. The grass adds to the image for me. My only suggestion might be crop a little from the left side of the frame to make it more vertical and a little more room at top but a minor item as this is a wonderful perspective. I can imagine lying in the grass to get this as this is something I can not do because of all the cactus needles on the desert. Way to go.

Impeccably done, Ian. Moving the subject a bit to the left might help, but it is good like it is as well.

Wonderful lines and nice details Ian. I really like the attitude of the flower in this one. The light is also very sublime. Very, very nice.

Very nice shot, Ian. I like the low POV and the composition a lot.
Perfect light.

Ian:

Beautiful composition. All the lines are pointing from RLC to LUC but this bloom has the cheek to turn around and look at the viewer. Well done :toast:

Lovely look at this anemone with the interestingly arching stem. Your choice of negative space on the left is unconventional and has keep me looking, trying to decide if I like it.

Ah, negative space on the left. I just commented on another photo with negative space on the left and feel the same way here. Being right-handed, I feel the negative space feels more natural on the right. Don't know why, and maybe it's just me.

Either way, excellent shot Ian. Well done!

A very delightful image, Ian. Put me down among those favoring a slight crop off the left, but this is obviously subjective.

Very nice Ian. I wish there was slightly more room at the top but this is still excellent as is.
