One more from the 22nd. The weather guessers are calling for a few days reprieve from the dismal weather we've been having lately, so hopefully I can get out again. This is the female in flight. I'm not particularly happy about the plain wall as a bg as it doesn't have a lot of interest, but it certainly focuses the attention on her. I liked the way the wings lined up in this one. I thought about removing the hint of her shadow from the LLC, but decided I preferred having it there.

7D, 500mm f4 ISL +1.4TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f5.6, 1/1250, iso 400, Av mode, +1/3 stop exposure compensation and added some more in post. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 12.5MP from the original 18. Taken March 22nd at 5:36 pm.

Your comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Dennis,
Larger image shows great detail in the feathers and the eye. There is a funky shadow in the lower left corner of the image which could be removed. I might raise the bird in the frame just slightly. Looks a little low to me. Another nice image Dennis. Good luck with the weather.

The background looks fine to me and the color compliments the hummingbird colors for me. I might consider a closer crop like David suggested. The larger image looks fine and is sharp where it needs to be. Well done.

Just the perfect amount of motion blur to give this shot more life. Nice work Dennis.

Here's a repost with a tighter crop and the Hummingbird higher in the frame.

Great catch, and the detail is wonderful. Agree with David's comment about the lower left corner. A little clone would make a terrific photo better.
