Life has been hectic and have not been able to get out with the camera. Recently, I photographed this tree sparrow from our kitchen window this February. Out of 8 shots, this one had the best eye highlight(Pentax K5 IIs, DA* 300mmf4, Av 1/500 sec at f5.6, ISO 1000, natural light). CS Levels, and Topaz Detail for sharpening. I also cropped about 10 % to provide a little more space on the right side of the image..............Jim

Jim,
Lovely little bird, and getting the shot through your window is wonderful. I wonder how the image would look if you were to clone out the OOF branches behind his head. :toast:

Looks sharp with nice detail for having been shot through glass. There's a lot going on in the BG but despite that it is a nice pose and a fine looking bird.

Nice detail for being shot through a window. The flat lighting is a plus here IMO. I wish the BG wasn't quite as busy, but we have to take them where we find them.

Superb detail in the sparrow, Jim. Was the window open? The busy bg is a bit difficult, though the bird does pop pretty nicely. The dark branch in front tends to draw my eye the most, though cloning is a slippery slope with always one more that seems to need removal.

Nice catch!
Sweet little fellow, with nice feather detail, good pose and eye contact,
I like how he/she is nestled in the branches.
