Flower Abstract

by Keith Bauer

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted March 31, 2014160 views4 comments
Went to our local BioPark yesterday with my wife and did a little macro work on some of the flowers that were blooming. Liked the somewhat abstract feel of this image.

Canon 5D Mark III
100mm f/2.8 Macro
MT-24 EX Twin Flash

Larger version provided.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Good job, Keith, getting close to the subject and capturing on the design of the flower. I like the fine detail. You retained detail in the yellow and the lighting looks very natural despite your use of the flash, which is not easy to do. When it comes to my close up floral work, I tend to be a purist, which means cloning out some of the imperfections like the smidge in the LLC. Up to the photographer, of course. Thanks for stepping away form your avian world and posting this beauty. :wavey:

Keith ..some fine detail in the yellow and those black hairs...I like the composition too, where you have taken it off center and also a vertical.
