I realize this could be in Macro or Flora. Decided to post it in Flora. Hope that's OK with the Flora Mods.

Just a little fun at our local Biopark photographing Flowers and this bee decided to add to my composition! Thanks, Mr. Bee.

The colors really pop, and the bee is as sharp as it gets. BUT WHERE ARE ITS WINGS??

Good question about the wings Mike. The flash should have picked them up a bit as this honeybee's wings are in motion. Worker bees are all female and represent the bulk of the population in a beehive. Drones are male bees and are larger in body size and have very large eyes which they use to find an available queen during mating flights.................Jim

Beats me. I'm guessing in the 1/1600 of a second that I captured this, they were in a position that just isn't visible in the image. Wish they were visible.

Very nice Keith. I love the colors of the poppy, and the bee is a very nice addition (or subject). Nicely done.

I love the flower, Keith. Beautiful light and subject, gorgeous colors, good choice of dof, nice bg, nice off center comp. The bee adds interest and is certainly well captured, but this one would be just as nice w/o the bee, IMO. :toast:

The bee is airborne even! Just reading below about the wing concerns. I actually like Mr. B w/o visible wings. Just goes to show how fast they buzz. The hover maneuver is enough to suggest flight.
