Protection Island

Anyone arriving on the Nanaimo ferry passes this island entering the harbor. A clearing storm brought calm seas and a quite nice sunrise. I liked this simple scene for it's relaxing feel.

Gorgeous Bill. I think a quite nice sunrise is a bit of an understatement. I was thinking it was a tad dark, but the large view works very nicely. Beautiful image.

wonderful warm image Bill. Very nice composition, and light too. Perhaps add a little more punch and glow to the sky? That's just a personal preference. All in all, I really like what you've captured here!

Indeed, a very nice and very warm feeling photo. Those nice red/orange colors in the sky and reflected on the water send a pretty powerful message. Even though the mood is relaxing, the message is a strong one. Well seen, composed, and exposed.

What a terrific sky, Bill. Once again compression is hurting the dark areas in the island. They start to open up in the larger version, but I like to see just a bit more detail in the island's trees (and they may be there in a still larger view).
