Mallard in late light

I liked the quality of the nice warm sunset light falling on this mallard hen. I also liked the diagonal log perch and the nice BG. Some people may object to the light circles created by OOF specular highlights in the BG but I think they look good and enhance the photo. I took this shot at White Rock lake in Dallas.

D300s with 200-400/4 and TC14 HH
1/125 @5.6 ISO 800

Thanks for looking and for any comments or critiques.

No bait, calls, captives or cloning etc. was used in this picture.

I really like the side lighting here, Robert. Nice job with the tough lighting conditions. Very nice detail in the Mallard. It does appear the high ISO has introduced a bit of noise in the background.

I agree, in this case the soft specular highlights add well Robert.
Nice detail and the warm side light is magic :toast:

Really cool light, Robert. I like your composition and the oof highlights aren't bright enough to be unduly obtrusive.
