I always seem to have a hard time capturing an image of dogwoods that I am pleased with. this is from the front yard Saturday.
D7000, ISO1000, F14, 1/160 sec, tripod, shutter release.
As always, comments and suggestions sought

Although a pretty green amateur, I'm a fan of flora and macro. I like the texture and light on the white petals. My gut on this one is saying either pull back a little to see those wonderful edges of the petals, or keep the zoom, drop down and catch the center at more of an angle, maybe 30 deg. Just my 2 cents....

Nice looking flower. It is in good shape and clean and makes a great subject. There are three suggestions I would make. The detail in the petals is good, but the focus should be on the center of the flower, it should be the sharpest. The light appears to be a bit flat and the center of the flower is a little bit to centered. Just my suggestions and someone else may see it differently.

Nice flower, Bob. I actually like the composition just as it is, with the white petals framing the the centered reproductive parts. My only suggestion would be to brighten it up a bit. On my calibrated monitor it looks underexposed. Given the flat light, I think some bright whites would bring more life to the presentation.

I really like your composition and dof, Bob. I'm not positive, but I think you could go a bit brighter on this for more impact.

Might just take the brightness up a bit, Bob, otherwise a nice sharp capture of the centre with a lovely splay of petals.
