Flora - 1st HM

Cherry Branch

I've always loved the way cherry branches twist and droop, often with one or two flowers at the ends appearing ready to fall. This is a high key shot from a year ago - the background is a white cherry in full blossom.

Canon 400D, Tamron 55-200mm lens @ 135mm, 1/320 sec @ f5, 1ev, ISO 400.

Splendid, with a Japanese print feeling. The different tonalities of pink fading into white make this an
exceptional picture, in my opinion.

Beautiful composition, Ian. I like the way the foreground blossom stands out from the rest and the sweep of the oof blossoms above.

This is beautiful, Ian! I really like the way you have the front flowers in focus, the back grouping more OOF, and the whole background a lovely shade of totally OOF whitish pink. Great comp and processing. My only thought would be just having a bit more room on the left to give the flower some breathing room from the edge. Nice job!

Ian, Excellent separation of the two flowers from the rest. It is not easy to compose fruit tree blossoms. Great post-processing too. Very beautiful work.

Ian: This is just a superb comp with great DOF choice and the resultant BG. One of the best cherry blossom shots I've seen in a long while. Most excellent.>=))>

Congrats on this lovely, warm and inviting view, Ian. The subtle warmth overall and the gentle softness of the background spray of flowers have me thinking of a wedding.
