The female of the pair of Violet-green Swallows on the same perch as the male and from the same session. A similar pose, but this one manages to seem much more regal-probably the extended neck.

7d, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f8, 1/800, iso 640, Av mode, no exposure compensation. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 8.4MP from the horizontal original. Taken April 6th at 9:56 am under cloudy skies.

Your comments are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Nice pose and good techs Dennis. I like the chest sticking out in this one.

Very nice image quality and tack sharp, complimentary BG as well Dennis.
I agree, the pose has a dignified air, suitable for a king
Well done! :toast:

Another great swallow shot Dennis. Really nice feather detail. Nice that you were able to get a matching set of the pair.

Wonderful pose and excellent detail. My only wish is that the branches weren't so obviously cut. Good job in holding detail in the side of the neck and shoulder that are into the light.

Actually, the branches on this were not cut. That's the way Madrone breaks. Sorry 'bout that.

Great background and a nice posture on this one Dennis. You handled the whites nicely. I might add just a touch of canvas to the bottom of this. Larger view is a must see!

Nice shot of a swallow. Any time I am around swallows there are never still long enough to get a shot.
