Actually, I'm not sure what she was on about-maybe another lady looked at her man. This is the mate of the male I posted a couple of days ago taken in the same session and perched on the same dead fig. I had a very hard time deciding how to frame this one, so I'd be glad to hear suggestions.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 2.0TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f10, 1/400, iso 500, -1/3 stop exposure compensation, Aperture Priority. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to a 4x5 from a horizontal original. Taken April 14th at 7:59 am. Take a look at the larger image to see the detail in the mouth.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Argh the competition for a perch. Nice shot. The frame seems fine with me. I tend to like a tighter crop nowadays, I don't know why!

I think the framing works just fine, especially with the frontal POV.
But there's always more than one way to skin a cat
Great BG, nice details, colors, and exposure Dennis.
And a large dose of personality to boot:toast:

I am comfortable with the framing you chose. If you are comfortable, that makes two of us! I seriously like the hissy fit the bird is throwing. :toast:

Very nice. The open beak and clear calling posture add a lot of interest. The techs look good as they have for this entire series.

Good job. This is a very evocative image. Note the variety of comments about what the bird is actually doing. I vote for whistling for a taxi. Thanks for posting this. :toast:

Dennis,
Another beauty. I like the crop on this but I'm wondering what a vertical crop would look lie with a little extra room on the left side. Just a thought. Super image though. Love the wide open beak. :toast:
