Fluffy Peony

Reminded me of a bowl of stracciatella, but with raspberry swirls instead of chocolate.

The flower was beautiful, but with the irregular petals it was a challenge to get all the detail and a pleasing composition with the colored swirls in the right spot.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Nikon D800 0.6 sec @ f/22. Diffused daylight. ISO 100

Thanks for taking a look. Your comments are always appreciated.

Finding a good comp for peonies can be difficult and I think you did a very good job here. Very nice lighting and excellent handling of the whites. Very nicely done!

Nice whites with splashes of color Sanjay. I like your handling of the whites. For me, there is a bit too much in sharp focus to be an abstract, but not enough of a center focal point.

The mix of colors is creamy and delightful. I agree with Nathan about a center focal point, although the dark fuchsia provides a few stopping points. This would be a good place to apply an iris blur (found in CS6 and PSCC)

What a wonderful job controlling the whites Sanjay, and a great splash of color.

Wonderful flower abstract and good detail for such a challenging subject. I like the subtle B&W contrast and that the flower takes up the entire frame. Well done.

Marvellous study in light and shade, so delicately executed, Sanjay ! Just enough form given to these unruly blooms to make a fine composition.
