NPWC#631-right eye open

Nikon D90, Sigma 17-70mm @ f/5.6, 1/200s, ISO 200, fill flash, square crop.

We took a day trip in North Georgia back in 2012. This is my oldest taking a shot at an overlook.

I love the focused look of her eye.
Obviously, the background was blown out. I converted to B&W, trying to make it somewhat of a high key to make her more the focus point.

Great intensity and concentration taking place here, Alan. The look is everything. The B&W is excellent and a good idea with the BG being out of a good highlight range.

She's definitely developing a good eye here... and I like how her elbow is tucked in to help steady the camera. Works nicely in B&W too.

Nice unposed shot of your daughter. You have captured an interesting look and moment here. I like the concentration and her pose. Not sure what the left hand was doing, but the blurriness suggests some type of movement. . .maybe telling someone to move over more? All adds to the human interest of this photo. Works great in B&W.

I like the conversion, and the stare of your daughter. Well done.

I like the concentration on your daughter’s face and your POV. The B&W conversion and the square format work well. Lovely moment!

Works for me, Alan ! The kind of shot that grabs your attention straightaway - great perspective and very nice execution.

Alan,
Well done on this capture of your lovely daughter and the B&W conversion was brilliant or de-brilliant depending on how you are looking at it .
