Taken somewhere in Gulf of Mexico on cruise. The Booby was fishing near the ship.
Taken with Canon 7D , EF 70-300 AT 100 MM, f 5.6,1/300 sec. , and ISO 400 in early mornig. Thanks in advance for looking and critiques and comments valued.

Very good details and your parallel POV from the ship worked out nicely for you Bill.
I might consider brushing/blending the lighter area above the beak, a minor nit.
Well managed top light, I like how the bird splits the horizon here.:toast:
Have a great weekend! :wavey:

A very different point of view than we normally get. The detail looks good for the most part, but the whites are on the edge on my monitor. I think it would be worth pulling the Highlights back a bit more. The contrast is really strong. If you are willing to experiment, try adding an Exposure Adjustment layer and move only the Gamma slider left to about 1.41. This creates a false mid tone that should flatten the image out a bit. You will have to mask the whites completely to protect them. After that you can add a very mild curve to put some contrast back in.

Cool composition, Bill. While the whites are on the edge, I can see detail in them. Maybe a little playing with the highlights in the shadows/highlights menu would help as well. Looks to me like there might be just a slight blue color cast to the whites.
