American Avocets Feeding

There's been some nice stilts and avocets this week so I thought I would add mine. This is another shot from the Texas coast the same day that I posted the Royal Tern recently. Like that shot I went for a pano with this one also as the background lent itself to that composition.

Canon 5D3 500F4 1.4x 1/2000 F8, iso 1000, lying on my stomach.

Killer image. Almost the same precision as the Rockets  Everything looks good to me on this one Nate. :toast:

Thanks Rick, hopefully the Rockets will start playing with more precision.

Wonderful parallel poses. I might've liked a tick more breathing room along the right edge, but it's hard to find any real faults with this shot.

I agree with Max, the identical poses makes this one very special Nate :toast:

What a cool image, Nate. The matching poses are great as is the relative positions of the birds. If this were mine, I'd be sorely tempted to add a touch of canvas at both ends as if feels just a tiny bit crowded there. With that gorgeous bg it should be easy to do.

Perfect sync -- the colors look great -- good job in keeping the birds off the brown horizon at the top.

If these feeds as quickly as ours then you've done extremely well Nate - both in focus, both with eye contact

Great shot, Nate. I like the warm light, the low POV and the composition a lot.

Love it, love it. Great angle and the birds were very cooperative. :jump:

Beautiful light and terrific image Nate. Love the double pose, techs look super. Only nit is the obvious a bit tight on the right. I am not usually one to add canvas, but this is one I think I would make an exception for (unless of course you are saving this one for a contest somewhere down the road).

Very cool shot Nate. Love the low perspective. I really like the avocet colors in the water. Both birds are neatly lined up and in focus. Doesn't get any better than this.

Sweet light, excellent capture and a pleasing near-symmetry. The low angle adds a lot to the shot.

Beautifully captured Nate. My only wish is for a bit more space on right and at the top.
