Greater Hornet

Folks,

This is again from my backlog. I had made several visits to this location. The nest , with the size and shape of a football, was active with hundreds of them flying in and out. I made images standing right below the nest, and dof was a challenge. Had made images with different lighting conditions. This particular one I had brightened up the frame a bit,
Am new in the gallery. . .

Wow Balan! Really nice pattern you found there, but I would almost like to see it without the bee, because it is an amazing abstract. Well seen!

Balan, the nest patterns are marvelous! I only wish the hornet were more visible against such a great backdrop. I also like Roel's suggestion of just seeing the nest on its own.

I also love the patterns Balan; very inspirational. I might try to selectively brighten and sharpen the hornet a little to make it pop a bit more.

I agree with the others on the fascinating patterns here. The Hornet seems to be straddling something. Possibly prey being brought back for the nest? Even in the larger view I can't make it out.

I agree with the substance of comments thus far. Cool and eye catching pattern. Thumbs up.
