This male Sharp-tailed Grouse was perched in a white spruce, looking for ladies to court. There were three hens down the hill behind him, but he never saw them.

50% of full frame, cropped to vertical. Selective sharpening to bird.

From his high perch he should be able to pick well..
Even so, it sounds like he could use some eyes in the back of his head

This is awesome Jim. You composed this perfectly. Just enough of the tree to convey its height but plenty tight enough to see the detail in this beautiful Grouse. Excellent light and a great headturn.
