Coyotes on the Hunt

Here are two of three coyotes in a group that were hunting along the eastern shore of Antelope Island. Within seconds of this photo, they heard the cackle of a bird, and ran into the brush to seek their quarry.

I am wondering if this photo should be brightened up a tad.

Please critique and comment.

I like the positions of the 2 coyotes, you know they are on the hunt! I think the brightness of the image is OK. I do think it is too tight and could use a bit more room on all sides, particularly in front of the coyotes. Also, to me it looks soft. From your techs you had room for a higher SS. Thanks for sharing.

I think the brightness and contrast is fine. It is almost an abstract; neat. Like how you get the feel of the hunt in this. I do agree that it seems a bit tight.
I can't tell about the sharpness, I am on my small tablet, (waiting to get my studded snow tires changed out!!).
I like it, but the tightness distracts me a bit. :toast:

Agree with the others. No need to brighten, but a little tight.

Thanks for the comments, John, Genny, and Rick. I agree that the image is tight, but unfortunately there is no space left in the image in front of the coyotes; only behind.

It is pretty darn tricky getting two working coyotes in the same frame! I agree with wishing for space. Maybe reduce contrast slightly?
