On Monday, I hung around a local great blue heron rookery long after there was enough light for shooting the birds. Glad I stayed!

I really like this Wayne. The silhouettes work well contrasted with the lovely sky. The birds really make this sing (pardon the pun - I couldn't resist. )

Very nice Wayne, has a nice tranquil feel to it, beautiful sky, and the Heron bring a lot of interest to the scene, like it alot. Take care.

WOW, those are some snappy colors in this sky. The entire scene has really benefited from this wonderful and intensely colored sky. The backdrop outlines the collection of subjects in the foreground very impressively. Love the rookery of heron here, Wayne. Glad you stayed for the shot too...

Those are some stunning colors in the sky, Wayne. The trees and heron silhouettes make a fine foreground.

Real nice colors to go with the sentinels guarding the tree. Smart move to stay late. Well worth it.

Your patience payed off nicely, Wayne. Beautifu shot. I think there was obviously plenty of light for shooting birds. The silhouettes and colors are remarkable.

Excellent image Wayne. Seeing the birds in the image when I opening it up was a nice surprise. The colors look great and I really like the silhouettes of the trees/birds.
