An Oryx greets the sun on the open plains of Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana.
I do not really like the edge between the sky and land, any ideas?

When i first looked at this photo my immediate thought was that I didn't like the sky and the transition from sky to land. Then I read your own comment.
I'm afraid it will take someone with far more PP skills than me to fix that. It's a shame though because the sky is so bright it overwhelms the subtle early morning colours in the rest of the image.
My suggestion: go back and try again.

I truly like the effect of this backlighted oryx in that field of yellow. Yes the sky is a nit that holds it back from being a "home run" type capture. I have no real suggestions other than I know you can remedy this next time!

Maybe you could apply some blurring along the transition using a mask.

Ken, I struggle with the same issues in some of my landscape images. I'm in the process of trying to learn how to blend exposures to handle these dynamic range issues. I might suggest Guy Tal's e books on creative image processing. He has been a great inspiration to my work(?) and clearly lays out ways to deal with these issues. Anyway I appreciate your comment on my recent image and for me it's all about refining the process. I love the Oryx and the golden field of color. Solving the bright sky will take some experimenting. Best of luck.
