Nap Time!
by John Neukirch
First morning in the outside world for these goslings was exhausting so numerous naps were in order. These little ones hatched Wednesday morning (5/7/14) sometime between 6:30 and 8:30am and I took this photograph shortly after lunch. Their nest was near a small pond at my work and we believe that this is the third year in a row that this pair has raised their goslings there. I'd been watching her sit on the eggs for a month and was starting to become concerned that they we're going to hatch but low and behold Wednesday was the big day. Another nesting pair had shown up the prior week with their four goslings also. Amazing how fast they grow. Thanks for looking!

4 commentsThe chick left stands out well, and the fact that one can still see the other chicks heads/eye lids as they slumber is a plus.
Well done
