A blue anemone, not yet open as the sun began to filter through a small gap in a leafy cluster of these small flowers.

Canon 7D, Tamron 55-200mm lens @ 171mm, 1/640 sec @ f5, - 0/33ev, ISO 320, hh.

Sweet, sweet, sweet! I love the back lighting and how the blue flower is framed by the OOF lights. Well seen and displayed! :toast:

Ian - Like the POF focus on this shallow DOF shot. Works well for me and I think a small crop from the top to remove those brighter circles also works for me.

I think the composition makes this for me Ian. The graceful curve of the stem and the light are just wonderful in my opinion. Superb work.

I am enjoying this a lot, Ian. Nice isolation of the anemone and just a very nice composition.

Ian, this is a charming angle. The flower really pops. the cluster of leaves on the right is a great touch. There's a touch of white at the top slightly to the right that draws the eye.

Best wishes,
Carol

Great bokeh and wonderful color on the bloom, Ian. I wish that greenery behind was not there, but I am not sure what you could have done about it. I like the subtle cram effect.

Wonderful back lighting effect and I like that you still see pedal detail in the shadows, well done.
