Spring in the Slough

This afternoon we had some stormy weather come through so I decided to head down into some of the Wisconsin River back water and a place known as Cruson Slough for a look. The rain, thunder and lightning ended during my short hike and then we got some wonderful light, spring color and reflections. This is the picture I made while there. Thanks for any thoughts. Larger version included!

Beautiful, Nick. I love the saturated colors from the rain and the reflection is top notch. I get the feeling that it might need to tilt CCW. It could be just me. Really, really well done. :toast:

Hi Gary, Thanks! and glad you liked it. Yes, maybe a bit of ccw rotation would be good. I can feel that a bit too even though I thought I had it level. I totally enjoyed the conditions the passing storm brought to this scene. Nick

Perhaps a little better with bush off-center. Consider cropping out some of the bottom and also the far right. Doing so will also make detail of bush and trees more discernible.

Larger version is a really nice presentation of this site, Nick. Amazing calmness to this scene. The amount of detail throughout the image leaves us looking for quite awhile. Very nice work as always.

Wonderful detail and colors in the large version and a very relaxing mood to the scene Nick. I really like your processing in the reflection. It looks just great. Really nice job on this. :toast:

I like the reflection better than the the woods themselves.
A very attractive "forest" photo, I could see an almost total reflection crop.

I was thinking about a reflection only comp too. Regardless, beautiful forest well-captured Nick.

Really well seen and executed, Nick. I think a very slight crop up from the bottom right would look nice, and very slight CCW rotation (it's probably level as is, but the shifting bank line gives the slight impression that it's not). Excellent scene and image!

Nick, this is an extraordinary image for me! Especially the unique reflection together with the lighter trunks at the left keep me exploring your subtle composition. Congrats on this one!
