Photographed this recently in Yosemite. The flower was in part shade/sun. Using Viveza I adjusted the bg lighting. I personally like the shadows and details on the flower and leaves. Thanks for viewing.

Floyd - Very pretty and a pleasing angled composition. The dark background helps the subject so nicely stand out.
The whites look a bit hot in some places on my monitor but its not a real big deal with everything else going in favour of the shot .

Floyd: Absolutely superb lighting and a fine comp. On my screen the whites look perfect. Two thumbs up! >=))>

I love the dappled light Floyd. Nice job getting the plane of focus on the flower aligned well. I also like the BG colors. I am not entirely sure about the comp - with the branch coming in at the top center - but I am not sure what would have been better.

I like the shadow/light on the dogwood flower plus the fact that you can make out what appears to be the ground in the background. My only suggestion might be to add a little on the left or center the flower within the frame but a very minor item as this is a wonderful shot. Well done

I too like very much the shadows fighting with the lights. This is a beautiful specimen.
Take care.
