Heavy clouds & humidity thick enough to slice with a knife when I shot this one yesterday. The high was 89 degrees, today you need a jacket at a brisk 60..
Commonly known as a 'top' shot of the Green Sweat Bee, not my favorite POV. But I was shooting down into a new cactus bloom, so I rolled with it:wink:
F/7.1, 1/400th, ISO 800, 1D M3, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 using a monopod for support & ambient light with a plus 1/3 bias. Cloudy WB.

Never seen one of these, Howard - don't think we have them over here. Excellent capture of the body and wings - and those bits of sticky-looking pollen !

Good clear shot of the bee, Howard. Your top down POV of this guy allows us to see a different perspective, especially of those transparent wings. I like the green and yellow color combo in this image. . .the green of the bee matches the green center he is on, and all the yellow makes a nice contrast to the green. I see you even color coordinated your signature too!

Great color combo, Howard, with the green bee and the green center surrounded by the various yellows. This view looks good to me.

You grab them when you can and I'm glad you got this one, Howard. The colors really compliment each other and enjoyed exploring the detail on the larger photo of this bee.
