3 is a Crowd - Owlets

This was the ONLY photo opp of the 3 eastern screech owlets at the cavity together. As you can see, there simply wasn't enough room and the youngest got squeezed out by its siblings.

This photo opp resulted from volunteering. Last year the City was planning on cutting this nest tree down until a nearby resident who was aware of the nest called a rehabber. The rehabber asked me to drive over there (about an hour drive), take pictures of the tree and cavity. By the next day she had saved the tree and nest, as well as 3 young from last year and 3 more from this year. Volunteering can be fun, satisfying and can offer amazing opportunities.

C & C most welcomed and much appreciated.

What a nice moment, getting all three. I really love how the patterns in the tree draw the eye inward to the subjects.

Love the message about volunteering. Great image as well Marina. I really love that third owlet trying to squeeze into your shot. Stopping down to F/18 contributed greatly to your getting all three birds sharp. Nicely done.

Too cute! Love this one, with the colors blending so nicely and those wide eyes. Really a great shot.

Wonderful capture, Marina. Tom my eye, it looks a little too obviously flashed; maybe back the intensity down just a bit?

Terrific image Marina, but also a wonderful story. LOVE the texture in the tree and great choice to stop down to get it all in focus with every one of the three owlets. Great job on the image and the volunteering.
