The Potting Shed

I drove all over the Palouse Hills telling myself that when I found the image I wanted I would know. I started to feel a bit dejected, it was like everywhere I looked I felt like I was in a Microsoft screensaver. I wanted something original but couldn't find inspiration. In the end I decided to leave, I spotted this from the roadside about 20 miles from Colfax.

As usual I'd value any views on processing.

Just out of interest is this a shot NPN followers have seen before. I've never seen it before but it was beside the road so my guess is it's heavily shot.

Never been to the Palouse, but it's on my "to do" list. Derelict buildings are often skipped over by us photogs as we search of "true beauty", so there may not be lots of other shots of this. The buildings add a lot of interest (and context) to a lovely scene.

Real pretty scene. It may have been shot a lot, but I have never seen it before.

i like this a lot. The colors and composition are great. I like the way the row crops and the clouds mirror each other by moving in to the image. Great center of interest also.

Thanks guys, I think I screwed up the white balance but I'm on the road for 6 months and processing on a small laptop.

I cannot make one suggestion about the processing. Love the shot. Wish it were mine. :toast:

Gem of a composition! I am headed to the Palouse next weekend May31/June1 so am wondering what I’ll find..esp after reading your text. This is a bit too cyan for me in the tint. Nonetheless, a wonderful comp and light.

I like this shot. Very nice composition with this mix of curve and straight lines.
