Bathing Beauty

I went back out late last week to have another go at bathing hummingbirds and had one that likes a flat rock that the water just flows slowly across. She came back several times for me before she had enough. I liked the pose in this one.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 2.0TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f8, 1/400, iso 500, -1/3 stop compensation, aperture priority. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 10.3MP. Taken at 7:19 on May 16th.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Love the wing 'flutter' with the rest of the hummer sharp, and water spraying about Dennis.
Looks like a great place for bathing on the flat rock, just the right depth for the little guys & gals
Well done! :toast:

Dennis...the water splash is awesome in this...especially the way it is spraying. Really nice job on this...looks like you are having a blast with the hummers this year.

That's really cool to get this guy bathing like this Dennis, great behavioral shot. I probably would have increased my iso a bit to allow for a faster shutter speed and possibly more depth of field. That said you captured the splashing action nicely. :toast:
