D800 600mm F8 1/3000 ISO 400 Tripod

Managed to catch this guy just after he left his perch to swoop down on another eagle carrying a fish. Really liked the form and the slightly upturned head and the fabulous blue sky certainly didn't hurt either.

All of the above do make for a fantastic image Bob! I like it a lot! I strive for a sharp flight shot someday!!

Sweet image Bob. Great pose. I also like the head turn. Very nice. A little work on the darkest feathers would add to the image for me. They are pretty dark with just a touch of detail. I tried it and liked the result. Happy to post the result if you're interested. Super image! :toast:

Hi Bob: Here's a version with a little more detail in the plumage. See what you think.

Hi Keith

Subtle and I like it. I will be adjusting this image for my files, it is now one of my favorites.

Nice capture, especially the head turn. Keith's example of selective lightening makes it even more effective.

Great head turn given to you by your eagle. I would like to see the wings lightened a bit, and Keith's version really makes this shine. Sharon

You had already nailed it, Bob, with the sharpness and the head turn, and the repost takes this one plane higher!
