Pretty nice David. I like the tones and somewhat subdued colors. I also like the reflection. The band of light adds interest as well. Being a devout Catholic, this does stir/inspire some thought and feeling for me. I like it.

Without knowing for sure, my assumption is that this is a shrine to Mary. This is what I get from it: Serenity, inspiration, peace, love.

I'm interested in what your thoughts were in making it.

Alan,,,,,I was raised a Catholic but have not actively practiced the religion since my early twenties which is a long time ago. What did stay with me was a fascination with the architecture of old churches and other icons of the faith. This particular shrine to Mary is on Hwy 1 in Golden Meadow. It was built in the 80's but is now sort of shabby and run down. I had stopped a few times over the years to photograph it but never at daybreak which is the only time it is in interesting light. The layered reflections and shadows give the image a depth and ambiguity and the muted color is fitting for the fading artificial flowers and dirty glass. In the end it's not so much about faith as it is about my view of religion.

Thanks for the feedback David. I'm gonna have to get down to the lower parishes for a shooting trip soon. Lots of great images down there.
