Tarzan Terrain

Ocala National Forest, Florida. After a mid-afternoon downpour before the sun reappeared, there was a steam or misty fog on the river and in the surrounding cypress forest that reminded me of a 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' sort of feel. Once I converted this image to B&W it also reminded me of a scene from an old Tarzan movie. Camera hand held from boat, Full Frame.

Nice moody scence you captured here. However, I do wish the gator had been turned more toward you.

Me too Jerry,
Unfortunately these big boys pretty much do what they have a mind to do and when your on the river with them, the thought of arguing about it never seems to come up. I have suggested to several of my guest to swim over, climb up on the log next to the gator for a picture in order to have a nice comparison in size to truly put a perspective on how big they are. Have not had a single person take me up on that idea.

Love the fog Mike, the angle the gator is at resting on the log, the reflection. I do wish you had some head turn from him however. Good decision for a B&W.

Amazing mood generated by this image - sweet reflection, love the big trees letting you know how big this beast really is and the B&W treatment is sweet. I wouldn't change a thing

Fabulous, mysteriouis, pre-historic feel to this image, Mike, but only wish the gator was looking towards the camera!

Man, who cares if the gator is looking at you or not, Mike. This is a wonderful gator image and a superb B/W image. Love everything about this. :wavey:

Sweet composition and use of black and white. I agree it would be best with the head coming to us.

Mike this image is well suited to a B&W conversion and you have done a very nice job of it. :toast:
