A beauty, Sandy! Perfectly caught, exposed and processed of an exotic and interesting bird.

Another beauty, Sandy. Pretty neat that you got to see this bird and came home with such a great photo.

Excellent, Sandy. I assume that when you are back you'll share the name and contact information for your guide...

Jim, sure - my guide was my partner, Dr. Jim Brown He's a retired Biology/Environmental Sciences professor, and the BEST guide, Sherpa, trip-planner,
Jim has spent a lot of time the last 7 yrs in Africa helping his son with his PhD in Archaeology. (Son proved and published that early man was making heat-hardened tools 50,000 yrs earlier than thought).
Jim knows S Africa very well. He designed the entire itinerary and chose every place we stayed.
We did stay at a couple remote camps places and went out with their guides a couple times.
The rest is TIME. We were there for almost 7 weeks, and drove over 5,000 miles. You can't help but find a lot of stuff when you're moving around that much. Honestly, though, it was a grueling trip even though well worth it. You know that the plane flights are brutal, but we were going from 5 am til 8 pm every day, and didn't want to miss a thing. We have been back 2 weeks and still are not fully recovered.
Still, a trip of a lifetime.
Sandy
