When in southern Utah I usually go by Bryce. After an hour or so in Devil's Garden last month I made a quick visit there, but the lighting was harsh. I have captured a number of nice hoodoo scenic comps in softer light, but sunny skies this morning precluded that. So rather than attempting the more iconic scenes, I found this slope at one of the overlooks, and decided to go for something a little different. Cropped to 3:2 aspect from 4/3rds original. Larger image included.

I really like this, Bill. The wonderful colors and strong diagonals make for great viewing. Nice work Chet

Very cool Bill: I like the flow of the composition. The trees help break up the pattern and keep it interesting. The only thing I'd suggest is cloning out the tiny triangle in the upper left. It really pulled me away when I saw it.

Nice to see you commenting in Landscape, Keith. Thanks for the suggestion. As a matter of fact, I had the same idea. Se you at the Bosque this December.

This works very well. I like the tension between the strong diagonals of the ridges against the verticals erosion channels and how the trees set the size. The subtle color shifts add even more interest.

This works really well. I really like the repeating ridge pattern, the colors and the scattering of trees. Fine take on Bryce.

Unmistakenly Bryce. Nice to grab just a piece, so many good abstracts availble, and this works very well.

This is very nice, Bill. I like your comp here a lot with the diagonal lines and the scattered trees. Nice light, color and textures too.

Nice job, Bill. I too like the repeating ridge lines, nice texture, and the muted color.

I missed this one earlier, Bill. This is excellent. The composition of tiers or steps of the terrain makes for a wonderful scene. I'm sure it would not have been as strong without the small plots of foliage scattered on each layer. Those items seem to really help define the POV so very well.
You've also made a valuable point here with the out of norm lighting and the resulting fine take of a non-iconic view that you've found at Bryce.
